Partners in Hope (PIH)
Partners in Hope (PIH) is a faith-based Malawian Non-Governmental organization that was established in 2004 to offer equitable health services and founded on robust commitment to support National HIV and AIDS response in Malawi. PIH has a medical center that operates a general outpatient clinic; inpatient wards; as well as a public HIV- focused Moyo Outpatient Centre of Excellence. PIH is incorporated under the provisions of Trustees Incorporation Act, 1962, in Malawi. With a Program Award under Cooperative Agreement No: 72061221CA00010 “Client-Oriented Response for HIV Epidemic Control (CORE -1) Activity Component One (1)” by the United States of America PEPFAR through USAID, PIH supports HIV Care and Treatment implementation in 123 Ministry of Health, CHAM and Private health facilities in 9 districts across Malawi (Mulanje, Chikwawa, Lilongwe Nsanje, Dowa, Kasungu, Nkhotakota, Karonga, and Chitipa. Under the CORE 1 Cooperative Agreement, PIH is seeking to recruit highly motivated individuals to be deployed in various districts across Malawi in the following positions:
PROGRAM MANAGER (4 POSITIONS)
Location: Lilongwe (PIH Central Office)
Reports to: Senior Programs Manager
Responsible for : District Program Coordinator/District Program Officer
Position Summary
The Program Manager will work directly with the district PIH staff overseeing PIH – CORE 1 interventions in supported districts aimed at meeting the UNAIDS 95-95-95 treatment cascade targets for HIV testing, treatment continuity, viral load suppression and TB.
In addition to this, he/she will contribute technical expertise to MOH’s HIV program on several service delivery areas including Viral Load monitoring and management, Differentiated Service Delivery models, Treatment Continuity and Mental Health, Pediatric HIV and implementation of TB/HIV and HIV testing and Prevention.
He/She providestechnicalsupport to the Research and Implementation Science Department within PIH in all HIV care related operational rapid assessments. The position will work closely with the Clinical Director/HIV Care and Treatment Technical Advisor, M&E Director, Senior Programs Manager and other Program Managers and will help to strategize, develop and coordinate a variety of programmatic tasks within the HIV Programming.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversees and supervises district program implementation in all focus areas: case finding, treatment continuity and, DSDs, viral suppression and service integration.
- Provide overall oversight for implementing components of the HIV Care and Treatment Program based in supported districts. This includes:
- Provide guidance on capacity building through mentorship and coaching approaches in line with MOH Implementing Partner implementation framework.
- Provide support to MOH in developing Mentorship guidelines, SOPs and training curriculum including facilitation of mentorship trainings.
- Collaborate with M&E team in designing and implementing the entire HIV cascade M&E system.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree. A Master’s Degree in a Health-related field is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ prior experience in managing similar activities in the private or public health sector, with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership
- Certified second line ART prescriber.
