Ampex Courier wishes to recruit suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Courier Manager tenable at Blantyre office under AMPEX Courier.
COURIER MANAGER
The purpose of the position is to the smooth running of the business through planning, organizing and controlling of business activities and effective implementation of business strategies and repositioning of the organization through strong leadership, analytical; creative and communication skills.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Courier Manager will be expected to perform among other duties the following functions:
- To develop goals and objectives of the Business and making sure that these goals and objectives are met.
- To plan, organize, allocate resources and direct the day to day operations
- To plan, organize duties of employees and reviewing employees performance
- To evaluate the performance of the company and recommend new strategies for performance improvements
- To evaluate business performance and recommend new strategies for performance improvements.
- To develop marketing strategies to improve revenue in order to solicit new clients and canvassing existing clients to increase customer base and revenue
- To resolve business issues and ensure that all escalated issues are closed
- To address business inquiries from customers and team members in a professional manner
- To identify resources, assign workloads and manage schedules to ensure timely achievement of targets
- To ensure that team work is in compliance with company policies and procedures
- To assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion, retention and termination activities
- To identify skills gap and provide and recommend appropriate trainings to team
- To develop and enforce best practices to ensure operational efficiency
- To oversee staffing adjustments to obtain maximum productivity and recommend cost reduction initiatives while maintaining productivity and revenue goals
- To provide guidance to team members and monitor their performance, discipline and attendance on regular basis.
- To identify areas of improvements and concerns and accordingly develop action plans.
- To submit business reports on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, attributes and skills:
- A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics or any related field, those with MBA will have an added advantage.
- Not less than 5 years practical experience working in a courier and transport industry
- Strong leadership skills
- Self-starter
- Excellent business acumen
- Mentoring and teamwork skills
- Excellent networking and communication skills
