EMPLOYMENT VACANCY (BLANTYRE OFFICE)

Ampex Courier wishes to recruit suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Finance Officer tenable at Blantyre office under AMPEX Courier.

FINANCE OFFICER
The purpose of the position is to account for the revenues against expenditure and to manage the creditors, debtors, suppliers and other key stakeholders

Reporting to the Courier Manager, the Finance Officer will be expected to perform among other duties the following functions:

  • To develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to ensure the organization’s financial health and stability.
  • To monitor and analyse financial data to identify trends and patterns for decision-making processes.
  • To prepare and analyse financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • To produce budgets and enforce compliance to the budgets
  • To raise invoices to credit customers and to follow up on outstanding balances.
  • To supervise cash summary reports and making sure that cash and cheques are banked in time and intact.
  • To coordinate with external auditors to carry out financial audits and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • To participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • To manage the company’s account receivables and payables.
  • To ensure tax compliance and liaise with tax authorities.
  • To manage financial transactions, including bank reconciliations, cash management, and employee expenses.
  • To provide financial advice and guidance to business leaders to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Any other duties as assigned from time to time by Management.

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, attributes and skills:

  • University Degree in Finance, Accountancy, or a related field and other added qualifications preferably ACCA or CIMA.
  • Knowledge of transport industry and attention to detail.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance and  accounting roles
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced knowledge of financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting Proficient in financial software and tools, such as Sage, and Excel
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance-related guidelines.
