VOLUNTEER – STRATEGIC PROCESS SUPPORT

JOB TITLE:              Strategic Process Support volunteer

DURATION:             Fixed six months contract (Working 2-3 hours in a week)

LOCATION:              Lilongwe

BACKGROUND

Edukans is an International NGO specialized in education and training for underprivileged young people. Edukans believes that building a future starts with education as the basis and that good education is the key to a country’s sustainable development and hence its most durable investment.

Edukans is in the process of developing its multi annual strategic plan. The successful candidate will be working with a professional team in the Netherlands, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and Malawi, with plenty of room for learning and initiative. The team is sociable, warm and driven to make a difference. As an organization with an educational mission, we like to give students the opportunity to ‘taste’ an interesting learning environment in the charity sector.

JOB SUMMARY

To support the development of Edukans new multi-annual strategy and contribute to a transformative process while gaining valuable insights, knowledge and skills on strategic planning, research, market analysis, and organizational development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct desk research on key education trends, market dynamics, and sector developments.
  • Compile and analyze data from internal and external questionnaires.
  • Support stakeholder mapping and benchmarking studies.
  • Assist in tracking progress, preparing updates, and maintaining documentation.
  • Help coordinate strategic workshops and internal meetings.
  • Provide general support in structuring findings and translating them into strategic insights.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS 

  • Holder of a degree in International Development, Education, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with experience in compiling and synthesizing information.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in education, NGO strategy, and international development.
  • Experience with data analysis, desk research, or strategic processes is a plus
