DURATION: Fixed contract of 6 months
LOCATION: Edukans Country Office, Lilongwe, Malawi.
JOB SUMMARY
Edukans is an International NGO specialized in education and training for underprivileged young people. Edukans believes that building a future starts with education as the basis and that good education is the key to a country’s sustainable development and hence its most durable investment. Since 2021, Edukans is implementing a strategic agenda (2021-2025) that covers basic education and skills for work programmes. Over this period Edukans sets out to “unleash the power of education” in its focus countries that include Malawi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda & The Netherlands.
INTERN COMPLIANCE OFFICER
The Intern Compliance Officer will assist in monitoring compliance, supporting risk management activities within the organization. This role helps ensure that financial and operational processes follow established policies, procedures, and regulations. Additionally, the officer will support identifying areas for improvement, the implementation of corrective actions, and promote adherence compliance standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits.
- Review transactions, documentation, and records for accuracy and integrity.
- Assist in evaluating internal controls and risk management practices.
- Document and report audit findings and recommendations and website content.
- Assist in enforcing compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.
- Support in investigating incidents of non-compliance and recommend corrective measures
- Support promoting awareness of best practices in governance
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or Internal Auditing from a recognised and accredited institution of higher education.
- Studying towards a relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
- Applicants must be registered with a professional body such as the ICAM
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

REMUNERATION
For this position, Edukans offers an attractive allowance. However, the successful candidate should be ready for regular performance tracking and appraisal.
