The Opportunity
Save the Children (SC) is seeking to hire a Finance and Awards Coordinator for the Green Climate Fund – Project Management Unit. The incumbent will be a key in linkage of Finance and Awards Management for the project between Health Sector Joint Fund, MOH and Save the Children Malawi. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, The Finance and Awards Coordinator will work closely with the Fiscal Agent managing the Health Joint Sector Fund, to ensure proper management of project resources channeled to the MoH. The Finance and Awards Coordinator will ensure that Save the Children’s financial policies and procedures, control, and system are followed and implemented properly in accordance with Save the Children, GCF regulations, and government laws. In consultation with the Finance Manager, the role holder will work with Save the Children Malawi’s Supply Chain, Awards Management and Donor Compliance units to ensure all sub-grants are well managed and compliant
This role will work closely with teams in MOH, Program Operations, PDQ and Finance on delivering financial and narrative reports, monitoring and analysis, and compliances and awards management processes.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Accountancy degree
- Qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA)
- Those studying towards ACCA/CIMA qualification with relevant experience will be considered
- At least 3 years’ experience with International NGO’s particularly those addressing Climate change and children’s rights and those applying partnership approaches is desirable
- Experience working with international donors and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
- Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication.
- Excellent time management and meeting deadlines.
- Strong financial skills and experience in budget development
- Planning and coordination skills.
Desirable
- Experience with Multi- Award Donor funded Projects.
- Experience with International NGOs.
