British American Tobacco South Africa has an exciting opportunity for a Trade Marketing Representative in Malawi

The value proposition of a Trade Marketing Representative is to build and drive an area operational plan that enables the effective execution of the Activation, Trade Marketing and Distribution strategy in the defined area.

The goal is to ensure that our portfolio of brands is always available with the correct stock levels and product freshness, in the right place, in the right quantities and at the right time.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop strong working relationships with trade partners, ensuring they are well trained, with the objective to win high level of trade support and loyalty for the successful implementation of our promotions, brand launches, consumer communications and merchandising activities throughout the year.
  • Manage investment allocation across the territory and drive territory priorities and KPIs in line with the company’s objectives.
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns with the use of promotional materials designed to promote and raise awareness of our brands in the market with the support of the Deployment Team.
  • Negotiate with retailers and other third-party partners on promotional display and merchandise placement
  • Engage with the Distributor’s Regional Supervisor on matters pertaining to Route to Market Model, Stock management and Distribution, DSR management for optimization of efficiencies in territory of responsibility.
  • Lead the recruitment and daily operations of foot soldiers, BAs, and any other stakeholders that interact with our products from a sales standpoint, in line with our business marketing principles and compliance procedures.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in, Marketing, Commerce or relevant field.
  • Marketing guidelines and principles
  • Valid driver’s license, with a minimum of two years driving experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, Ed App, RCS8 and other trade tools.
  • Excellent ability to communicate and write in English and ability of selling, problem-solving and negotiation.
