Employment Opportunity: Production Manager, Ziwet Feed Mill, Kanengo
Reports To: Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Role Overview:
Ziweto Enterprises Limited, a high-growth agribusiness specializing in the livestock sector, is seeking a dynamic Production Manager to lead operation of its feed mill located in Kanengo, Lilongwe. The Production Manager will manage and oversee all production and operational activities of the animal nutrition products manufacturing facility. A suitable candidate will have extensive supervisory experience within the manufacturing / production environment especially the animal feed plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production planning and management: develop a detailed production plan in consultation with other departments. Manage day to day production activities within feed mill facility.
- Development of standard operating procedures: lead in development of standard operating procedures for the feed mill facility in collaboration with all departments and ensure compliance with established standard operating procedures at the facility.
- Quality control and safety management: ensure the facility operates in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Malawi Bureau Standards (MBS) requirements
- People management: Line/Matrix management of production team (Logistics Officer, Plant Operators, Quality Control and Safety Officers)
- Warehouse inventory management: manage inventory/stock control system for feed mill. Work with purchasing to maintain and control appropriate inventory levels for all raw materials in line with the production plan.
- Sales and marketing: Sales and marketing: plan and execute sales and marketing campaigns, feed formulation seminars, secure and maintain customers and other related activities.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Agriculture/Mechanical Engineering, Processing Technology, Animal Science, Agriculture Sciences, or related fields
- Must have experience in production and managing of animal feed plant or related manufacturing operations
- Must have experience in ensuring safety, health & hygiene in a production environment
- Must have an understanding and experience in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in food manufacturing production processes
- Must have experience in Quality Control and reporting on product quality parameters
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
