Position: Independent Engineer
Project: Designing, Financing, Construction, Operation, and Maintenance of a 4,726-Capacity Student Accommodation at Mzuzu University, Luwinga, Mzuzu
African Growth Group Limited (AGGL) in conjunction with Mzuzu University, invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Independent Engineer.
The role of this position is to supervise the design and construction of this landmark project, ensuring compliance with standards and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and review design documentation for compliance with specifications.
- Monitor and report on project progress.
- Ensure availability of land and relevant permits.
- Ensure quality assurance during construction.
- Ensure adherence to environmental management and statutory requirements. i reovide ai, Independent, and professional assessments end ericationio.
- Report regularly to the Contracting Authority on project implementation progress.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in large infrastructure or civil works, with at least 5 years supervising medium to large-scale public sector construction projects.
- Registered member of the professional body such as the Board of Engineers in Malawi.
- Excellent command of English and fluency in local languages).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Candidates with Project Management experience will have an added advantage.
Contract Details:
- The duration for the appointment shall be 3 years, subject to satisfactory performance.
- The project will offer a competitive salary to the successful candidate.
