RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB PURPOSE

To supports the development and execution of marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and ensure effective communication of the Airtel brand, across all media outlets, in a consistent manner. Increase preference for Airtel through relevant advertising, media investment, sponsorship and any other Brand associated activation.

REPORTING TO THE HEAD OF BRANDS AND COMMUNICATION THE ROLE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

1. Customer understanding:

  • Developing an intimate knowledge of customers attitudes and behaviour.
  • Initiating and developing campaigns to address key customer insights.
  • Using customer insights to guide segments on the best unique selling proposition of products and services.

2. Marketing intelligence:

  • Conducting periodic initiatives to assess market developments in terms of pricing, promotions, advertising, product availability, customer insights, competitive activities, market trends, to ensure all activities are suitably benchmarked.

3. Communication:

  • Developing a Brand, Communications and Media Strategy for the business in line with the company guidelines.
  • Ensuring compliance with all guidelines.

4. Sectional Performance:

  • Evaluating output within the section and taking remedial action where required.
  • Using output of the section to satisfy the requirements of other sections across the business.
  • Assisting in organizing marketing activities like product launches.
  • Organizing materials and controlling stocks thereof.

5. Branding:

  • Ensuring brand dominance by developing and leveraging brand properties and growing visibility across various customer touch points.

6. Outsourcing:

  • Managing various agencies and partners to ensure optimal output.
  • Briefing, evaluating and reporting on third party sourced jobs.

7. Reporting:

Compiling and circulating monthly reports on OPEX and Visibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business administration or related field
  • Excellent knowledge in customer experiences discipline and profession
  • Strong ability and agility to work under high stress with short term targets and objectives
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • IT literacy (MS Excel. PPT. Word)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years practical experience in brand management
  • At least 1-2 years working experience with Telecoms or other fast paced Go-to Market work environments
  • Exhibits good level of creativity and resourcefulness
  • Media planning and management
  • Digital marketing
  • Project management and planning
  • Presentation skills

  • Problem solving skills
  • Good communication and influencing skills, able to brief and motivate creative resources
  • Familiarity with and interest in contemporary brand management thinking and trends
