The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawians particularly women, youth, and persons with disability through the provision of quality, affordable, and sustainable microfinance services for improved livelihoods.

VALUATION OFFICERS (NF6) 22 POSITIONS

Job Title: Valuation Officer
Grade: NF6
Department: Credit Management
Reports to: Senior Valuation Officer
Responsible for: None
Tenable: Various NEEF Zones

Job Purpose

To appraise and estimate the value of goods in terms of condition/size, including land and buildings on the land usually before they are sold, mortgaged, developed

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Providing input in the development, review and implementation of policies, plans, budgets and strategies for collateral valuation
  2. Verifying the ownership and geographical validity of properties pledged as collateral
  3. Performing valuations of pledged properties a secondary evaluator after external appraisals, recognizing that not all properties require external assessments.
  4. Facilitating confiscation of properties in cases of loan default by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of loan repayment trends for each client.
  5. Facilitating transfer of confiscated properties to property valuers and maintaining proper safety and security of the properties
  6. Managing the disposal process for confiscated properties as directed, ensuring compliance with NEEF policy during transactions.
  7. Safeguarding property records to prevent tampering and ensure data integrity
  8. Facilitating and conducting periodic property existence monitoring to verify the continued existence of both the properties and clients
  9. Collaborating with legal services in adjudication matters involving collateral to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  10. Preparing periodic reports

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Property Valuation, Real Estate Management, Land Economics, Surveying and Land Management or related field obtained from institutions accredited by NCHE
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of working experience in asset valuation, preferably in a financial or lending Institution.
