The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawians particularly women, youth, and persons with disability through the provision of quality, affordable, and sustainable microfinance services for improved livelihoods.

RISK AND COMPLIANCE OFFICERS (NF6)- 17 POSITIONS, HEAD OFFICE AND ZONE OFFICES
Job Title: Risk and Compliance Officer
Grade: NF6
Department: Risk and Compliance
Reports to: Senior Risk and Compliance Officer
Responsible for: Senior Assistant Risk and Compliance Officer
Tenable: Head office and Zone Offices
Job Purpose
To support the implementation and monitoring of risk management and compliance frameworks to ensure that NEEF operates within its regulatory, legal, and ethical obligations while identifying and mitigating potential risk of the Fund.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifying mitigating factors to the risks associated with the current and proposed future business activities.
- Maintaining accurate and organized documentation related to risk assessment compliance audits and incident investigations
- Promoting good lending practices that are compliant with policies and procedures to ensure effective credit and financial risk management
- Conducting risk-based and compliance assessments and checks in branches, departments and sections
- Distributing internal policies, procedures, processes and guidelines
- Developing risk and compliance management tools such as Risk Registers, Compliance Calendars, Checklists, Workflows etc.
- Attending meetings, and provide risk-based advisory roles in Credit, Operations, Finance, Administration, Procurement etc.
- Conducting incidents and fraud detection, prevention, and assessments and submitting reports within two weeks to the Senior Risk and Compliance Officer.
- Conducting Simplified and Enhanced Customer, Supplier and Employee due diligence at the ex-ante and ex-post.
- Preparing periodic and activity reports
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree Finance and/or Accounting, Economics, Business Information Technology, Legal, Business Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Audit or any risk-related field from an NCHE accredited institution;
- 1 year of working experience
