
Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA)
Introduction
The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) is a statutory body established under the Communications Act, 1998 to regulate the provision of services in the communications sector of Malawi, comprising telecommunications, posts and broadcasting.
Currently, under the Communications Act, 2016, MACRA is mandated to regulate and monitor the provision of communications services and ensure that, as far as it is practicable, reliable, and affordable communications services are provided throughout Malawi and are sufficient to meet the demand for such services in accordance with the principles of transparency, certainty, market orientation, efficiency, and consumer satisfaction. The Vision of MACRA is to create a universal access and usage of ICT services in Malawi to facilitate the development of the ICT Sector through efficient and effective regulation and research.
CERT Manager (MA4)
Job Purpose
- To provide direction, lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the unit.
- To lead in the day-to-day operations of the unit
Duties:
- Oversee and prioritize actions during the detection, analysis, and containment of an incident
- Convey the special requirements of high severity incidents
- Work directly with the affected network to research the time, location, and details of an incident.
- Providing threat intelligence and context for an incident.
- Investigating security incidents
- Development and promote policy and procedures
- Select and train incident response team members and officers.
- Provide incident handling capability by monitoring, analysing and responding to incidents
- Undertake technology watch, the dissemination of information and other tasks when no incidents are ongoing.
Education and Professional Qualifications
- A minimum qualification of Master’s Degree Cybersecurity, ICT, Computer Science Minimum of five (5) years’ experience.
- Proven skills and experience in understanding cybersecurity at national and international level.
- Professional certification in any related field such as CISSP / CISM/ CEH/CHFI/ and any other cyber security certifications
