ADMARC Limited Company was established as Statutory Corporation in 1971 under Chapter 67.03 of the Laws of Malawi. The Act was repealed in 2003. Following that, ADMARC was incorporated  as a Limited Liability Company, under the Companies Act. The repeal saw ADMARC Limited becoming a non-subverted Statutory Corporation, but with Government being a major shareholder with  up to 99% shares.

The Board of Directors of ADMARC Limited resolved to overhaul ADMARC Limited by Corporate restructuring. The Board approved new structures for the company with new skills sets to take the  new ADMARC forward. All employees were retrenched.

ADMARC Limited, a Statutory Corporation in Agricultural Marketing is looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following position:

Marketing Manager
Reporting to Director of Operations (Grade AL 3 and based at Head Office)

Purpose of the Job

To develop and implement marketing and business development strategies and programmes to promote the Company’s financial and commercial viability and business growth

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conducting research on Agricultural commodity marketing to secure competitive advantage for AL
  2. Planning, directing and overseeing marketing and business development initiatives
  3. Identification of the market segments as per the research, and the required operational support
  4. Developing and updating activation and sales promotional programmes for the year.
  5. Developing and updating a systematic approach to engaging specific corporate customers for sales dialogue dialogue on AL products
  6. Establishing and maintaining a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events in line with the approved Brand guidelines for AL
  7. Oversee the development and implementation of trade promotions and campaigns for Business Units for AL
  8. Developing and executing in-market communication plans in line with the approved marketing plan
  9. Developing trade promotions and campaigns and submit them to the Director of Operations
  10. Managing research to understand the market in relation to competition, designs appropriate interventions in relation to the market requirements, the best positioning of AL commodities locally and internationally
  11. Reviewing sales pipeline, sales forecasts, monthly sales, trends and customer usage to determine the necessary actions to achieve revenue and volume targets for all commodities
  12. Developing necessary plans on how to achieve the desired sales and distribution targets within each Division and Company as a whole
  13. Forecasting the trade stock requirements, ensuring the availability of commodity stock in the market, drives sales in line with the Sales Plan through DMs and the Retail shops
  14. Inspecting the sales process and prioritizing opportunities for improvement with the Division Managers
  15. Continuously reviewing changes in the Market, Consumer trends, the activities of competitors and adjusting the Market plan if necessary
  16. Advising Management on the pricing of Agricultural commodities
  17. Analyzing potential strategic partner relationships and guiding the Company accordingly
  18. Initiating, developing and reviewing marketing and business development plans, strategies and practices
  19. Managing the branding of AL offices and exhibitions to showcase AL’s products and services in order to enhance Company’s visibility
  20. Negotiating with customers for bulk commodity sales
  21. Developing strategies of convincing and motivating staff in AL to perform at their most profitable level; and the customers to recognize and choose AL
  22. Participating in the development and negotiations of business and marketing contracts and agreements with customers and partners
  23. Guiding the Marketing and Business Development Team on day-to-day activities and appraising their performance
  24. Preparing and administering Annual Marketing and Business Development Division Budget
  25. Compiling and submitting periodic reports

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Marketing/ Business Administration/ Economics from a recognized institution
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/ Business Administration/ Economics from an accredited institution.
  • At least Five (5) years’ work experience in a busy sales and marketing environment
