Job Description
The primary role of the EOSH (Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health) Coordinator – RTM is to coordinate and manage the EOSH system inclusive of all internal as well as external audits and corrective action across all functions, capabilities, and sites within the organisation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Guide and Influence Understanding of EOSH Systems

  • Where unsafe work practices and unsafe conditions have been identified, is responsible to work with Process Owners to correct this.
  • Work with Senior management to ensure building of Safety Culture in the organisation with active participation and management of safety campaigns, including tracking of implementation data.

Manage People and Processes to ensure compliance with EOSH Systems

  • Ensures that everyone in the organisation apply TCCC and legal EOSH requirements as well as internal plant and company procedures and adhere to all legal requirements when carrying out their tasks.
  • Ensures that EOSH and housekeeping receive appropriate focus through regular checks /walkabouts and EOSH audits.
  • Ensure effective EOSH communication in the plant, to external warehouses, and distribution centres
  • Ensure EOSH training is conducted for all levels in all functions.
  • EOSH induction of new employees, visitors and contractors conducted.
  • Ensure all reporting is done monthly as per the requirements
  • Ensure reporting of IMCR cases and incidents as per the requirements.
  • Ensure the investigation of all incidents as per the requirements and keep records thereof
  • Coordinate activities with a focus on Environmental, Occupational Safety, and Health (EOSH) compliance, including food safety (FSSC) requirements and Quality standards. Report any discrepancies or issues that may impact the quality and safety of soda products.
  • Play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment by stopping and reporting any safety concerns within EOSH activities, aligning with the Risk Assessments.

Ensure effective execution of SC ways

  • Perform relevant SCMAT assessments and provide evidence of implementation.

Maintain and ensure compliance with EOSH requirements, regulations and policies and effective management of EOSH systems

  • Ensures implementation of the appropriate CCBA and legislative policies on EOSH and housekeeping.
  • Coordinate and administer the EOSH committee meeting.
  • Liaise with Clinic regarding H&S statistics
  • Updated EOSH statistics / incident
  • Updated EPM statistics to Group office and BU.
  • Schedule & organize legal surveys and audits and implementation of action plans.
  • Assist all functions with writing of procedures and updating of EOSH documents.
  • Update records in KOSMOS as required.

Proactively entrench EOSH systems

  • Construct a EOSH system implementation and maintenance plan in liaison with SHEQ Manager, Business Systems Coordinator and Engineering Department.
  • Enforce compliance to local legal, KORE, ISO 14001 and NOSA requirements.
  • Coordinate and ensure review of plant risk assessment with Process Owners
  • Ensure the logging and closing of corrective actions applicable to the EOSH system
  • Ensure incident investigations are done for all incidents and records maintained
  • Ensure that inspection of equipment is done by engineering/utilities or other departments, as per requirements, to ensure that equipment is safe on site e.g. boiler inspections, machine guards, ladders etc.
  • Ensure planned job observations are done as per the schedule.

Comply with Business Systems (including SC Ways, Internal Quality and Food Safety systems as well as Coca-Cola requirements)

  • Drive maturity of the system through supply chain way work practices.

Adhere to the food safety (FSSC) requirements and Quality standards at all levels (local, international and CCBU policy). Report any works or anyone that compromises quality and food safety on site.

Qualifications

  • BSc degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Safety Occupational Health, Risk Management, Environment Management and/or Food Technology.
  • Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 and/or Equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum two years in a Food Processing or Logistics environment doing work in EOSH.
  • Preferably experience as a safety and environmental auditor or inspector.
  • Two years in a Business Systems Environment, Manufacturing, Mining, Construction, Petro-chemical or Public Health Environment.

Competencies
