JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager (1x)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent

JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Head: Portfolio & Business Development, the ideal candidate will focus on execution of the Portfolio & Business Development Strategy through identification of new business opportunities, providing investment advisory strategies, and maintaining client relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a strategic pipeline and strategies for closing deals with private wealth clients, corporate clients and other individual clients.
• Develop and execute business development plans aligned with the organization’s objectives.
  Identify new market opportunities and Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement innovative solutions to meet client needs.
• Develop a strategic sales pipeline with measurable targets, Lead negotiations, ensure timely follow-ups, and successfully close deals.
• Monitor and report on sales performance and achievement of revenue targets.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with private wealth clients by delivering superior service and insightful financial advice.
• Provide personalized investment advisory services to high-net-worth clients, ensuring alignment with their financial goals and risk profiles.
• Develop and manage tailored investment portfolios, including equities, fixed income, alternative investments, and other asset classes.
• Monitor financial performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with strategic goals.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 Years’ practical experience in a Business Development, Sales or Client Relationship role (preferably within the financial services or investment sector)
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• Strong understanding of investment products and financial markets, and key stakeholder such as Malawi Stock Exchange, RBM, Stockbrokers and commercial banks.
