Post: Senior Assistant Human Resource Management Officer (Grade J)
Salary: Within the Grade J salary scale segment
Location: DHRMD
Qualifications
Applicants should be serving Assistant Human Resource Management Officers (Grade K) and Bursars (Grade K) with a minimum of four (4) years experience in those post.
Duties
- Interpreting and application of Malawi Public Service Commission Regulations(MPSCR) and Public Service Act, Treasury instructions and other instructions as may be issued from time to time;
- Conducting recruitment and selection of staff;
- Carrying out office superintendent functions;
- Conducting on the job training of staff subordinates;
- Maintaining up to date inventory of stores and equipment; and,
- Supervising subordinate staff.

Post: Assistant Human Resource Management Officer (Grade K)

Location: DHRMD
Qualifications
Applicants should be in possession of a diploma in either in Human Resource Management or Human Resource Development from recognized institutions.
Duties
(a) Recruitment;
- Reporting of vacancies to either Civil Service Commission or Appointments and Disciplinary Committee;
- Preparing shortlist for submission to CSC or ADC;
- Inviting shortlist candidates for interviews;
- Serving as a member or Secretary for an interview panel;
(b) Management
- Ensuring that junior staff carries out their duties to the required standard and target;
- Ensuring that discipline is maintained among junior through settling of disputes, counselling, issuing letters of warning, interdiction, dismal or termination of contract.
(c) Advisory Role
- Assisting in the interpretation of MPSR, PSRC and other circulars as may be issued from time to time;
- Advising on matters concerning establishment and staff development.
(d) Office Service Role
- Purchasing, stock and issue stores and stationary items; ii. Controlling use and arrange service or repair of vehicles;
- Ensuring proper use of office equipment, machinery and arrange service or repair promptly.

Post: Shorthand Typist/Stenographer (Grade K)
Salary: Within the Grade K salary scale segment
Location: Various Ministries and Departments
Qualifications
Applicants Should be in possession of Malawi School Certificate of Education and Certificate in Shorthand of 70 – 120 words per Minute, obtained from recognized institutions.
Duties
- Taking dictation;
- Transcribing;
- Typing general and confidential correspondence;
- Filing mail;
- Undertaking reception duties;
- Maintain the boss’s appointment diary;
- Operating office equipment.

Note:
Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
