The Public Procurement & Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) was established by an Act of Parliament to regulate the procurement and disposal of Public Assets in Malawi. PPDA mission is to provide a professional, efficient, and effective regulatory, monitoring and oversight function on all public procurement and disposal matters. To accomplish its mission, PPDA is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions.

Job Title : Help Desk Support Intern – ICT

Location: PPDA Offices, Lilongwe

Purpose of the Job

The Help Desk Support Intern-ICT will be responsible for supporting the operations of the e-procurement system. This involves providing technical assistance to suppliers, procuring entities, and internal staff.

The intern will assist in managing system-related issues, ensuring the smooth functioning of the platform, troubleshooting technical problems, and facilitating user adoption.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing first-level technical support to users of the e-procurement system (suppliers, procuring entities, and internal staff).
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolve system access, functionality, and performance issues.
  • Assist in the setup and configuration of user accounts and profiles.
  • Assist in monitoring the system performance and escalating unresolved technical issues to the IT team.
  • Providing support in conducting user training and creating documentation to guide users on system features and best practices.
  • Log and track issues through a ticketing system, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Provide support to IT team to identify areas for improvement and contribute to system enhancements.
  • Support the integration of the e-procurement system with other internal tools and platforms.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or any related field with basic understanding of IT systems administration, networks, databases, troubleshooting, and end-user support.

Person Specifications

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
