Seed Co Malawi Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified and interested internal candidates (currently working with the Company) to fill the position of Seed Inspector, within the Production Department. The details are as follows:

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• BSc in Agronomy/Horticulture/Seed Systems/ General Agriculture

EXPERIENCE IN A RELEVANT FIELD

• 2 Years (one with Seed Co Malawi Limited)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Recruit suitable growers for seed production.
2. Organize and conduct seed production training sessions for the recruited growers.
3. Ensure timely distribution of basic seeds to contracted growers.
4. Help with planting, including methods, ratios, and splits.
5. Implement proper fertilizer application and pest and disease control management for seed crops to achieve optimum yields.
6. Conduct timely sampling of seed crops for laboratory tests, including molybdenum, grow-out, and genetic purity tests.
7. Ensure all growers sign and adhere to the seed production contract.
8. Provide accurate seed production estimates and reconcile certification against deliveries.
9. Ensure seed deliveries are completed within the set deadlines.
10. Maintain positive relationships with seed growers and other relevant stakeholders, such as Seed Services.
