RESEARCH ANALYST

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, the incumbent provides research information and data on the macroeconomic environment and competitive landscape.

Key Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

1. Financial

  • Collect relevant research information.
  • Prepare competitor analysis reports.
  • Translate data into valuable insights.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to convey the necessary research information.
  • Build and maintain a database of research information.
  • Analyze and resolve research issues in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ad hoc management reports as and when required.

2. Customer and markets

  • Prepare and share information on key macroeconomic indicators.
  • Compile, manage, and analyze information and data sets for research projects.
  • Respond to queries raised by users in regards to the research information submitted.
  • Engage with stakeholders to interpret and report results of research information.
  • Periodic submissions as and when required.

3. Operational and Sustainability

  • Ensure accuracy of information.
  • Maintain confidentiality of bank information.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills/Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, financial engineering, statistics, actuarial science, finance and banking, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in conducting economic research and data analysis at this level.
  • Ability to conduct economic research for the bank’s purpose.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Econometrics software such as Eviews.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Good presentation skills with an ability to present a convincing picture.
  • Ability to create visually appealing charts, graphs, and infographics to represent research findings.
  • Knowledge of the economy and or financial markets.
