Ethanol Company Limited (EthCo), is an ethanol and allied products manufacturing firm located in Dwangwa. As part of the process of realigning the Company’s Technical Operating Model (TOM) with its strategy, EthCo seeks to recruit suitably qualified and experienced Malawians to fill the following newly created positions in the company.

MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the successful candidate shall be responsible for, among other things, the following:

• Installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment within the factory and at EthCo’s residential compound;
• Machining on lathe and milling machine;
• Being part of the annual plant shutdown maintenance crew;
• Attending to call duties
• Adherence to EthCo safety standards

The ideal candidate must have the following basic qualifications and attributes:

• Full Malawi School Certificate of Education or its equivalent with strong passes in Mathematics and English.
• Grade 1 National Trade Test Certificate in General Fitting/ Mechanical Engineering. A City and Guilds Certificate in fitting shall be an added advantage.
• Must be within the range of 25-40 years of age
• Must have more than 3 years’ experience doing similar work.
• Must be prepared to work odd hours.
• Must demonstrate good communication skills.
• Must have reasonable level of computer literacy
• Must be of sober habits.
