ASSISTANT FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

Location: Blantyre

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Preparing monthly Management Accounts.
• Preparing Tax Reporting Packs.
• Supporting month-end close process.
• Assisting with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) reporting process.
• Assisting with annual budgeting and planning process.
• Working closely with external auditors during annual audit.
• Performing balance sheet substantiation and timely resolution of general ledger reconciliation issues.
• Assisting with Fixed Assets Management.
• Supporting monthly line of business reporting and quarterly regulatory reporting.

Required Education & Experience

• Must have a first Degree in Accounting.
• Must be a chartered accountant – ICAM, ACCA, CIMA.
• Must have at least 3 to 5 years relevant work experience.
• External Audit experience will be an added advantage.

Skills & Attributes

• Ability to work and deliver within tight deadlines and prioritise workload accordingly.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of using accounting packages.
• Must be familiar with relevant International financial reporting standards.
