THE ORGANISATION

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) is the governing body of football in Malawi and was founded in 1966 with its main mission of effectively organizing, administering, developing and controlling the game of football in consistent with FIFA rules and regulations in a manner that will continuously improve the standard of football in the country. FAM is affiliated to FIFA, CAF, COSAFA and the Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS). FAM manages all Malawi national Football, Beach, Futsal teams for both men and Women.

FAM seeks to hire a Hotel Supervisor and Club Licensing Officer for the Head office situated in Blantyre, Chiwembe – Limbe.

Club Licensing Officer (Grade C3)

Role:

To development and maintain an effective, delivery, and management of both FAM and CAF club Licensing systems at continental and domestic levels to achieve core club development objectives as determined by club licensing rules. A primary emphasis of the role will be on the phased extension and implementation of the Club Licensing system into the Women’s Domestic game and Regional Leagues and Youth. The successful candidate will be offered a 3-year renewable performance-based contract.

Reporting to: The Club Licensing Manager

Responsibilities: Assist the Club Licensing Manager in his/her attributions;

  • Assist in monitoring and enforcing club licensing regulations for men’s first division (Super League) and second division (Premier Division) clubs through awareness campaign to ensure clubs comply with FAM/ CAF club licensing guidelines;
  • Assist in maintaining and delivering robust Club Licensing system to improve club professionalism, governance, transparency, and development through focused interaction with clubs, leagues, CAF, FIFA and all other key stakeholders
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating courses, seminars, workshops, and club audits under the FAM Club Licensing system (as required) to maintain professionalism.
  • Assist in supporting the initial development, delivery, and subsequent management of a Club Licensing system for the Women’s football.
  • Assist applicant clubs with their understanding of the process and required documentation in relation to Club Licensing through regular and systematic communication/ support.
  • Assist in preparation of the licensing reports with all the necessary files containing Club Licensing documents for submission to the Licensing Committee First Instance Body (FIB) and Licensing Appeals Body (AB) according to the Core Process Timeline.
  • Provide administrative support to the FAM Club Licensing Committees, as required.
  • Assist in continuous monitoring of clubs to verify their minimum requirements defined in the core FIB process to ensure they are maintained by all licensees during the period for which any licence has been granted.
  • Assist in guiding club monitoring requirements and required club submissions for clubs qualified for CAF Club Competitions on the Club Licensing IT platform.
  • Maintain professional expertise, always keeping up to date with changes to football rules and regulations (FIFA, CAF and FAM) that may have a bearing upon the operation of the Club Licensing systems.
  • Proactively participate in training and development opportunities, staff performance appraisals and reviews as required.
  • Service the FAM policies in line with its development plans.
  • Adhere to and actively support at all times all FAM’s policies, procedures, processes and working practices, including adhering to best practice.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and annually report of activities
  • Perform any other duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Be Malawian,
  • Understand the principles of non-disclosure and confidentiality.
  • Have relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management or with any degree with at least 2 – 3 years of work experience within sports administration.
  • Have capacity of problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the football industry, football law and regulations, and best practices.
  • Have time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Be proficient in the use of MS Office suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word;
  • Have effective knowledge of IT and communication systems and
  • Have excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills in English.

Remuneration

FAM will offer a competitive remuneration par commensurate with qualification and experience within its structure.
