THE VACANT POSITION

MECHANIC (1)

Location: Head Office, Area 6, Lilongwe, Malawi

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor. The purpose of the job is to maintain and repair company fleet and will be responsible for the Workshop Assistant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Carrying out vehicle maintenance
  2. Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical components and diagnose issues accurately
  3. Preparing vehicles for certificate of fitness
  4. Facilitating vehicle recovery from breakdown sites’
  5. Carrying out minor electric repairs on vehicles
  6. Monitoring performance of and maintaining generators
  7. Reporting on vehicle spare parts requirements

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • MSCE with City and Guilds grade 1 with a good truck record
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in a reputable organisation
