MHC-Henan Guoji Development Co. Ltd is a joint venture between Malawi Housing Corporation and Henan Guoji Development Company Limited from China. The company is currently selling and managing residential town houses in Lilongwe Area 49 Sector 5.

The project is called Guoji Dream Town.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant post;

Tile Installer

Responsibilities

• Cutting and setting tiles.
• Measuring and marking surfaces to be tiled according to blueprints.
• Aligning and straightening tiles using levels, squares and straight edges.
• Determining and implementing the best layout to achieve a desired pattern.
• Cutting and shaping tiles to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners, using hand and power cutting tools.
• Responsible for managing jobs, running crews and reporting to a boss.

Job Requirements

• No criminal record.
• Having a certain level of English proficiency;
• Engaged in basic construction work such as masonry and plastering; knowledgeable about correct construction methods.
• Can understand architectural construction drawings.
• Have a certain degree of coordination ability and led a construction team of more than ten people.
• Possess strong execution and sense of responsibility, without resisting tasks assigned by supervisors.

The interested individual should have;

• Graduation certificate from a local engineering college (Certificate in Masonry Foreman Specialty).
• A minimum of three years industry experience on a construction site.
• Those who have previously worked for a Chinese company and are able to operate leveling instruments or a theodolite have an added advantage.
