Lilongwe Water Board

The Lilongwe Water Board is a Statutory Corporation established in 1947 and re- constituted under the Water Works Act (Cap 72). It is responsible for the provision of water supply services to the City of Lilongwe and surrounding areas designated as its supply area. The Board is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates of Malawian origin to fill the following vacant positions on Temporary basis.

RESOURCE AND ARCHIVING OFFICER
Reporting to the Administrative Officer, the Resource and Archiving Officer shall be responsible for the following:

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Developing and review of policies and procedures for the Resource and Archive Centres;
  2. Creation of a Resource Centre in line with best practices;
    Provision of improvements to the Archive Centre;
  3. Making arrangements to ensure that the Resource Centre has adequate resources at all times;
  4. Making arrangements to ensure that LWB is subscribing to relevant online libraries and resources;
  5. Liaising with staff on archived information in terms of storage and retrieval;
  6. Processing complaints after every Complaint Review Meeting;
  7. Updating data into Database System;
  8. Opening, filing, archiving, monitoring movement of dockets;
  9. Recording and managing exhibits;
  10. Compiling periodical reports;
  11. Keeping and maintaining of bail registers;
  12. Custody of exhibits and other relevant documents;
  13. Demonstrating outstanding commitment to service delivery programs of the Board by personally identifying and reporting water bursts/leakages to customer care Division of which verifiable repair records shall be tendered to be used as one of the components for assessment during one’s performance appraisal time.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelors Degree in Library and Information Science or related fields with at least Three (3) years practical experience.
