Opportunities have arisen for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following vacant positions tenable in various Sunbird Hotels, across the country.

PROCUREMENT OFFICERS

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receiving kitchen market lists and system purchase requisitions for due processing.
  • Sourcing quotations for goods and services sourced from non-preferred suppliers.
  • Negotiating prices with suppliers to ensure that goods and services are sourced competitively.
  • Ensuring that goods from suppliers have been delivered or collected timely.
  • Following up with suppliers on outstanding items in cases of non-delivery.
  • Conducting monthly market surveys.
  • Coordinating quarterly supplier performance appraisal.
  • Preparing periodic purchase reports.
  • Preparing monthly cost savings’ reports.
  • Coordinating monthly Hotel Procurement Committee meetings.
  • Ensuring proper record keeping of all procurement documentation.
  • Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills, Competences and Attributes desired:

  • CIPS Diploma in Purchasing & Supply from any institution recognized by NCHE.
  • Must be a member of Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS),
  • A Malawi School Certificate of Education with credits in English and Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement department.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and customer care skills.
  • Computer literate, particularly in Excel.
