LAUNDRY ATTENDANTS

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning machines before and after use with proper detergents.
• Sorting the laundry according to colours and dirtiness.
• Washing, drying and pressing laundry by following the recommended manufactures and guest instructions.
• Weighing all linen before washing in order to control capacity of washing machine.
• Washing items by using the recommended and right quantity of chemical according to quality and colour.
• Taking care of all operating materials and chemicals after use.
• Checking that equipment and fittings in the laundry are in good condition.

Knowledge, Skills, Competences and Attributes desired:

• A full Malawi School Certificate of Education.
• Certificate in Housekeeping Operations from any institution recognized by NCHE.
• 2 years’ experience in a related capacity.
• Cordial and hospitable character.
• Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundry equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Organized and attention to detail.
