National Water Resources Authority (NWRA)

The National Water Resources Authority (NWRA) is a statutory organization established by the Water Resources Act of 2013 with a specific function to regulate and manage water resources.

Furthermore, the NWRA seeks to ensure the sustainable use of water resources and address the water resources planning, development, and management challenges. In its effort to sustainably manage water resources, the NWRA seeks to recruit members of staff. In this regard, NWRA invites applications from suitably, qualified, and experienced persons to fill the following vacant position:

Job Title: Internal Auditor
Department: Internal Audit Unit
Grade: NW 5
Reporting to: Senior Internal Auditor

Purpose of the Job
Assist the Senior Internal Auditor in management of internal audit function and to provide Independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the Authority’s operations for the achievement of its strategic objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assists in Implementation of plans, policies, and procedures of the internal audit function.
  2. Assesses and reviews client’s compliance with policies, standards, plans, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  3. Conducting pre-audits on payroll and cash receipts and banking
  4. Assisting the Senior Internal Auditor in carrying out ad hoc investigations as requested by Management.
  5. Recommending improvements in systems wherever need be.
  6. Reviewing management accounts.
  7. Drafts audit reports for submission to the Senior Internal Auditor on significant findings; impairments; and other matters articulated in annual work plans.
  8. Compiles and presents audit evidence in legal actions.
  9. Performs such other relevant and lawful duties as may be reasonably assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in the field of auditing in a busy organization
  • Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors
