Limbe Leaf Tobacco Company Limited, one of the leading tobacco processors in Malawi, has the following vacant position at its Head Office in Lilongwe.

MOTOR VEHICLE AUTO ELECTRICIAN

The successful candidate will among other duties be required to:

• Establish the nature of the mechanical failure, depending on the complexity consult supervisor
• Inform relevant personnel upon completion of any mechanical repairs and monitor performance
• Overhaul electrical components and test run upon completion of any job allocated
• Attend to planned modifications to electrical components as assigned by the Fleet Manager
• Attend to other maintenance tasks as allocated by the Fleet Manager including breakdowns
• Assist in Motor Vehicle workshop records keeping
• Ensure that other employees attending mechanical or electrical problems or doing regular maintenance follow safety practices and standard health
• Ensure proper planning so that electrical parts are available
• Plan to ensure that machines and vehicles are always available for use

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum of grade 1 or motor vehicle technician diploma from a recognized institution
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on tractors, forklifts, motor vehicles and gensets
• Good troubleshooting or diagnostic skills
• Hardworking and trustworthy
• Must be between 30 and 42 years of age
• Must have a valid driving license – class C1
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision
