The Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant posts that exist in the different sectors of Nkhotakota District Council.

JOB TITLE : CLINICAL TECHNICIAN (ORTHOPAEDIC)

GRADE : K/M9

REPORTING TO : SENIOR CLINICAL TECHNICIAN

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be in possession of a Diploma in Clinical Orthopaedics from accredited institutions and must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi.

DUTIES

1. Attends to Orthopaedic cases in out-patient department.
2. Conducts ward rounds of admitted patient to ensure patients are getting the optimum care.
3. Managing patients pre and post – operatively.
4. Performs minor and some major operations.
5. Assesses health needs of various target groups.
6. Identifying various health promotion activities, planning, implementing and evaluating them in the community.
7. Identifying potential health hazards or diseases and work out strategies to alleviate them.
8. Managing drugs and medical/general supplies.
9. Submits monthly reports.
10. Be on call and cover.
11. Any other duties deemed reasonable for the post.
