Malawi Airlines is the national flag carrier that operates B737-700 and Q400 Aircrafts having direct flights to regional cities of Johannesburg; Lusaka; Harare and Dar es Salaam; besides daily domestic flights between Lilongwe and Blantyre. HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER (LILONGWE)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill in the position of Human Resources Officer based in Lilongwe (Head Office). The position holder will be reporting to the Head of HR and Corporate Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development and implementation of Malawi Human Resources Strategy within the Company to ensure successful and timely implementation of the Corporate Strategy.
  • Participates in the establishment of major policies, procedures governing all HR functions.
  • Implements a proactive manpower forecasting system to enable timely availability of manpower for meeting operational needs.
  • Ensures the overall operation and day to day activities are properly catered with adequate transport and other facilities.
  • Ensures through periodic review, the quality and efficiency of outsourced functions.
  • Provides guidance & awareness to outstation offices in HR related functions.
  • Provides counseling and guidance to supervisors and employees.
  • Supervision of the HR Administration role, ensuring that all administrative related matters are handled effectively and timely.
  • Assist in formulating and directs all initiatives that have come about as a result of the HR strategy.
  • Facilitates performance management process and its outcomes for all departments ensuring high performance culture.
  • Handling Recruitment and Selection process in line with the organizational strategy.
  • Handling disciplinary matters in line with the company policy, legislation and liaison with Legal department.
  • Ensures and monitor strict adherence to the safety and security standards of Malawi Airlines throughout the airline by liaising with departmental heads.

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • A Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management or related from a recognized institution.
  • At least three years of working experience in a busy Human Resources Management and Development department.
  • Those with Aviation experience will have added advantage.
  • High level proven integrity.
