Due to growing business we are looking for a Trainee Human Resources Consultant. As a Trainee Human Resources Consultant you will undergo some mentorship to improve your capacity to specialize in outsourced HR services. The expectation is that you will develop and eventually be responsible for delivering comprehensive HR solutions to our clients in Malawi and, when required, within the region. You will serve as a strategic partner to client organizations, providing expert guidance and support across various HR functions. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of HR best practices, excellent client management skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse organizational needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relationship Management:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building strong relationships based on trust and professionalism.
    • Conduct regular meetings with clients to assess HR needs, discuss strategic objectives, and provide tailored solutions.
  2. HR Consulting and Advisory:
    • Offer expert guidance and advice on a wide range of HR issues, including employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and compliance.
    • Collaborate with clients to develop HR strategies aligned with their business goals and objectives.
  3. Talent Acquisition and Management:
    • Assist clients in the recruitment process, from job posting and candidate sourcing to interviewing and selection.
    • Advise on best practices for onboarding, training, and development to optimize employee engagement and retention.
  4. Employee Relations and Compliance:
    • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.
    • Ensure clients remain compliant with relevant employment laws and regulations, conducting audits and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  5. Performance Management:
    • Design and implement performance management systems tailored to each client’s needs, including goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and performance appraisals.
    • Offer coaching and support to managers in conducting effective performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
  6. HR Technology and Systems:
    • Recommend and implement HRIS solutions and other technology tools to streamline HR processes and enhance efficiency.
    • Provide training and support to clients in utilizing HR systems effectively.
  7. HR Analytics and Reporting:
    • Collect and analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for clients, offering insights and recommendations based on HR metrics and analytics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from reputable and accredited institutions;
  • While some experience will be handy, fresh graduates with potential for growth in HR management will be considered.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Strong client management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
