INTRODUCTION
Lilongwe Pentecostal Christian School (LPCCS) is well established school, registered with the government and recognized by the Ministry of Education. PCS follows the government and recognized by the Ministry of Education. PCS follows government calendar and is compliant with the education enforced by the Ministry of
Education.

LPCCS is a founded on Christian faith and was officially opened in 1997 following resolution of the National Executive Committee of Pentecostal Assemblies of Malawi (PAOM) LPCCS accepts learners from other faith
backgrounds. LPCCS is urgently locking for a suitable person to fill the position of IT Technician to support the
school’s administration

POSITION TITLE: IT TECHNICIAN
JOB LOCATION: LILONGWE
WORK STATION: LILONGWE
REPORTS TO: HEAD TEACHER

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To provide administrative support

Responsibilities (which include, but are not limited to)

  1. Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
  2. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  3. Ensuring electrical safety standards are met.
  4. Repairing and replacing damaged hardware.
  5. Upgrading the systems to enable compatible software on all computers.
  6. Installing and upgrading anti-virus to ensure secunty at the user level.
  7. Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
  8. Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
  9. Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues
  10. Conducting daily backup operations.
  11. Ability to train teachers/Leaners.
  12. Manage the computer lab.
  13. Any other duties assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Computer science or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
  • A+. Linux+. Cisco Network Associate accreditation advantageous
  • Good interpersonal skills.
