 Consultancy Services for Station Layout Development, Land Surveying and Property Valuation

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a not-for-profit institution that generates agricultural innovations to address Africa’s most pressing challenges of hunger, malnutrition, poverty, and natural resource degradation. Working with partners across sub-Saharan Africa, IITA improves livelihoods, enhances food and nutrition security, increases employment, and preserves natural resource integrity. IITA is a member of CGIAR, a global research partnership for a food-secure future.

To strengthen infrastructure planning, land management, asset documentation, and institutional development, IITA invites Expressions of Interest from qualified and licensed consulting firms to provide Station Layout Development, Land Surveying, and Property Valuation Services for its station.

Scope of the Assignment

 The consulting firm will be responsible for undertaking a comprehensive exercise which will include:

  • Conducting a comprehensive land survey and mapping of the station.
  • Developing a geo-referenced station layout/master plan showing all structures including:
    • General Stores
    • Block 1, Block 2, and Block 3
    • Screen House
    • Car Park
    • Driveways
    • Cassava Field
  • Identifying and demarcating property boundaries and producing survey maps.
  • Assessing and valuing buildings, land, and infrastructure at the station.
  • Preparing a property valuation report using a clear and professional valuation methodology.

Expected Deliverables

The selected consultant will be expected to deliver the following:

  • Inception Report
  • Survey Maps
  • Station Layout Master Plan
  • Property Valuation Report
  • Final Consolidated Report

All reports shall be submitted in digital format (PDFs, GIS/CAD files, and maps) as well as printed hard copies.

Duration of Assignment

The consultancy is expected to be completed within 4 weeks from the date of contract signing.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Interested firms must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a registered consulting firm with the Surveyors Institute of Malawi (SIM).
  • Have licensed and qualified professionals, including a registered Land Surveyor and Property Valuer.
  • Demonstrate experience in GIS mapping and spatial data management.
  • Have at least five (5) years of professional experience in similar assignments.
  • Provide evidence of similar assignments completed within the last five (5) years.

Submission Requirements

Interested firms should submit the following:

  • Company profile and proof of registration.
  • Evidence of similar assignments completed in the last five years.
  • CVs of key personnel (Surveyor, Valuer, GIS Specialist).

Submission of Expressions of Interest

Expressions of Interest should be submitted no later than 31st March 2026 (closing time: 2:00 PM).
