VACCINATION NURSE SUPERVISOR – 2 POSITIONS
Workplace : Blantyre
Type of contract : 6 Months
Start date : November 2026
Main purpose of the position
The Nurse Supervisor will work to Plan, organize and evaluate activities, in accordance with HPV vaccination routine activities will be implemented in line with the MSF protocol according to national protocol together with MOH. It the MSF’s values, policies and protocols and universal health standards, to ensure the quality and continuity of care and the development of the action plan.
Job Summary
- Supervise and support nurses, Health Surveillance Assistants (HSAs), vaccinators, and other health workers involved in HPV vaccination.
- Coordinate implementation of routine HPV vaccination activities at health-facility and community levels.
- Develop and monitor vaccination micro plans, outreach schedules, and session plans.
- Ensure correct identification and registration of eligible girls according to current national HPV vaccination guidance.
- Monitor vaccine availability, stock levels, vaccine distribution, and proper storage within the recommended cold-chain conditions.
- Ensure safe vaccination practices, including screening, administration, documentation, and management/referral of adverse events following immunization (AEFI).
- Conduct supportive supervision and on-the-job mentoring of vaccination teams.
- Monitor vaccination coverage, missed opportunities, defaulters, and underserved populations, and support corrective actions.
- Strengthening community engagement and health education in collaboration with HSAs, schools, community leaders, parents/caregivers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate completion of vaccination registers, tally sheets, child health records/cards, and relevant reporting tools.
- Compile, analyze, and submit timely HPV vaccination reports through the appropriate health information system.
- Participate in data-quality assessments, review meetings, and performance-improvement activities.
- Identify barriers to HPV vaccination uptake and work with district and facility teams to address them.
- Promote infection prevention and control, safe injection practices, appropriate waste disposal, and occupational safety.
- Support planning and implementation of outreach and other strategies to reach girls who are difficult to access.
- Participate in training, orientation, and capacity-building activities for vaccination personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional nursing and public-health standards
- Implement all hygiene protocols and procedures and check that your team follows the same standards, guaranteeing the quality of care and service in your specialty.
- Perform and/or coordinate the administration (discharge formalities, transfers, etc.), data collection and information tasks, and develop regular reports to have up-to-date and reliable information on the day-to-day activity in the project, on performance and on results and thus to assist in decision-making.

| Education | · Diploma/Degree in Nursing or Medical Degree of at least a similar level is mandatory (registered Nurse, Nurse Anesthetist). |
| Experience | · A minimum of two years of professional experience as a nurse is required. · Previous experience with MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières) or other NGOs Is desirable · Previous experience organizing vaccination activities is highly desirable · Previous experience working in close collaboration with MOH actors is highly desirable. |
| Language
| Proficiency in both the local language (CHICHEWA) and the mission language (ENGLISH) is mandatory. |
| Competencies: | Computer literacy is required, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet |
