 Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. In Malawi, MSF works in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the local community in Cervical Cancer projects Blantyre districts.

MSFF is looking for its Blantyre Cervical Cancer Project Office:

  HEALTH PROMOTER IEC OFFICER – 2 POSITIONS

Workplace                            : Blantyre

Type of contract                : 6 Months

Start date                              : November 2026

Main purpose of the position

Implement Health Promotion/IEC (Information, Education, Communication) activities with patients and local population to raise their knowledge and skills on relevant medical topics.

Job Summary

  • Inform patients and communities about MSF and services it provides.
  • According to medical priorities, deliver information to the patients and community on specific health topics
  • Implement activities of health education and awareness (sessions in schools, churches, community), under the indications and supervision of the HP Supervisor.
  • Under the guide of HP Supervisor, assess the impact of activities (with questions, verifications and behaviors observations), and report problems, success and constraints to him/her.
  • Collect all types of information related to specific health and living conditions of the population, to identify the most vulnerable populations to target.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with social partners, including other NGO’s, governmental health services that can provide answers to social problems.
  • Keep education and communication areas clean and tidy and professional materials available.
  • Participate in creation of any material needed for the activities of information, education and communication.
  • Report to HP Supervisor: activities, problems met, strengths and constraints
Requirements:
EducationBachelor of Social Science/Communication/Teaching/Public health/Nursing
Experienceo   Previous experience in sensitization, community mobilization, and community engagement (more than 2 years)

o   Previous experience in vaccination activities, specifically in community mobilization for vaccination

o   Mandatory: Previous experience in community mobilization and community engagement (at least 1 year)

Language Local language essential
