Position: Sales (Commercial) Manager (National) FMCG

General Description:
Develops and implements the marketing and sales strategy for the business to meet short, medium, and long term corporate strategic objectives and quality and quantity standards.
Key Result Areas:
- Implements and manages the performance of subordinates in achievement of agreed strategy, business plans and budgets.
- Develops, has approved, implements, and monitors an annual strategy, business plan and budget and 1-year forecasts for the area ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and that the agreed Gross Profit margins are achieved or bettered.
- Agrees pricing strategy and model with General Manager and prepares financial model for approval based on approved business plan
- Manages appropriate marketing strategy by principal / category
- Identifies key accounts and strategies for relationship management to ensure strategic customers are identified and retained.
- Assessing suitability of potential new customers, negotiating terms and structures.
- Ensure a continuous cycle of review for improvement within area
- Responsible for the Sales and Merchandising departments
- Ensuring and monitoring trade execution as per agreed standards/planograms by each principal supplier

Education:
The minimum level of education required to competently make decisions is:
Sales and Marketing degree
Experience:
- The minimum post-education experience needed for a person to be appointed to this job is: 5 Years -At least 3-4 years’ experience in a sales/marketing position, 2 years’ experience in a managerial position is a MUST
- FMCG INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS A MUST, THOSE WITHOUT NEED NOT TO APPLY
Knowledge
- Must understand the concept of branding
- Must understand THE CONCEPT OF MARKETING

- Must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure, requires exceptional communication skills
