About Masters Finance Ltd

Masters Finance Ltd is a newly established Deposit Taking Microfinance Institution dedicated to providing inclusive, modern, and technology-driven financial solutions to economically active Malawians. As we prepare to open our initial five branches across Malawi and position ourselves for future transition into commercial banking, we seek dynamic and experienced leaders to join our pioneering team.

Position: Branch Managers (5)

Location: Lilongwe, Blantyre, Mzuzu, Zomba, Karonga

Reports To: Senior Operations Manager

Key Purpose of the Role

To lead and manage branch operations, drive business growth, ensure high-quality customer service, and enforce effective internal controls in line with Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) prudential guidelines and Masters Finance Ltd.’s policies.

Key Responsibilities

Lead branch operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies, RBM regulations, and AML/CFT standards.
Drive branch sales targets for deposits, loans, agency banking, and digital products.
Oversee the credit function including loan origination, assessment, monitoring, and collections.
Manage branch staff, providing coaching, performance feedback, and leadership.
Ensure effective cash management, vault controls, and teller operations.
Strengthen customer service delivery and resolve customer issues promptly.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly branch performance reviews.
Safeguard branch assets and enforce operational risk controls.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, employers, community leaders, and local stakeholders.
Prepare and submit timely branch reports on operations, risk, sales, and finance.
Promote digital channels and ensure successful adoption of mobile and agency banking tools.
Lead local marketing, financial literacy events, and brand awareness activities.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
At least 8 years’ experience in microfinance or banking, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or branch leadership role.
Strong knowledge of credit processes, deposit mobilization, and branch operations.
Ability to interpret and apply RBM prudential guidelines.
Excellent communication, customer service, and team leadership skills.
Practical experience using core banking systems and digital financial platforms.
Strong ethical conduct, integrity, and operational discipline.
