Beta Trust is an investment trust that invests across public equity, private equity, and commercial real estate, with a long-term objective of building a diversified and resilient investment portfolio. We are seeking motivated interns to support both our investment research activities and administrative operations.

  1. Research Intern (Investments)

Role Overview

The Research Intern will work closely with the investment team, conducting market research, analyzing investment opportunities, preparing reports, and assisting with portfolio monitoring. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in finance, investment management, or real estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on public equity markets, sector trends, company fundamentals, and valuations.
  • Assist with private equity due diligence, including market sizing and competitor analysis.
  • Support commercial real estate research, such as comps analysis, cap rate assessments, and demographic studies.
  • Prepare investment memos, research summaries, and presentation materials.
  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets, dashboards, and portfolio databases.
  • Review financial statements and assist with basic financial modelling.
  • Monitor macroeconomic indicators and relevant industry developments.
  • Participate in internal meetings and provide concise research insights.

Desired Qualifications

Studying toward or recently graduated from Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business, or related fields.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and research abilities.
  • Proficiency with Excel; financial modelling skills are an advantage.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in investments and financial markets.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.

  1. Administration Intern

Role Overview

The Administration Intern will support the Trust’s operational, clerical, and documentation needs. This role suits an organised and proactive individual interested in understanding the administrative foundation that supports investment operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize documents, contracts, and compliance files.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and meeting materials.
  • Assist with scheduling, calendar management, and coordination with external advisors.
  • Support basic bookkeeping tasks, including expense tracking and invoice processing.
  • Manage databases and ensure investment and asset records are accurate.
  • Assist in onboarding service providers and maintain updated contact lists.
  • Support administrative workflows related to investment transactions.
  • Ensure compliance and legal documentation is properly updated and stored.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed.

Desired Qualifications

Studying toward or recently graduated from Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related fields.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
