Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP)

The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is an independent public office established under the Political Parties Act of 2018. Its mandate is to register, regulate, monitor and investigate political parties to ensure compliance with the Political Parties Act. In order to fulfil its mandate, the ORPP is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill vacant positions tenable at ORPP Headquarters in Lilongwe, as follows:

Job Title: Registration and Compliance Officer (2 Positions)
Grade: RP6
Salary: Within the RP6 Scale Segment
Reporting to: Senior Registration and Compliance Officer

Purpose of the Job

To provide registration service and monitor compliance

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Receiving and scrutinizing political party applications forms and responding to registration related inquiries;
  2. Receiving and process change of particulars from political parties
  3. Maintaining accurate records and databases of all party registration documents.
  4. Monitoring changes in relevant laws and regulations and supporting updating of internal policies;
  5. Updating political parties’ register and symbols
  6. Providing guidance to stakeholders regarding registration and compliance processes;
  7. Preparing and submitting reports

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Public Administration, Political Science, or any Social Sciences related field from an accredited Institution
  • Experience in a regulatory compliance, licensing, or registration roles;
