Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP)
The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is an independent public office established under the Political Parties Act of 2018. Its mandate is to register, regulate, monitor and investigate political parties to ensure compliance with the Political Parties Act. In order to fulfil its mandate, the ORPP is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill vacant positions tenable at ORPP Headquarters in Lilongwe, as follows:
Job Title: Motor Vehicle Driver (2 Positions)
Grade: RP8
Salary: Within the RP8 Scale Segment
Reporting to : Human Resources and Administration Officer
Purpose of the Job
To drive staff and transport goods.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Driving ORPP vehicles;
- Transporting goods/materials and staff for ORPP;
- Checking vehicle roadworthiness by inspecting and maintaining vehicle supplies and equipment.
- Reporting maintenance schedule, Road Tax, COF and Insurance for vehicles
- Maintaining of motor vehicle log books;
- Reporting any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles to immediate supervisor in a timely manner;
- Reporting of breakdowns or accidents
- Cleaning and disinfecting vehicles.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Malawi School Certificate of Education
- Clean Class Cl Driving Licence
- Those with PSV Driving Licence, Defensive Driving Licence and basic motor vehicle repair and maintenance skills will have an added advantage
- Minimum of two (2) years continuous experience in a public, private or international organization
Core Competencies and attributes
- Ability to perform general physical inspection of the vehicles and install movable materials;
- Perceptive and skilful enough to inspect body work, equipment, structures, or materials to detect mechanical errors or defects related to vehicles;
- Good vision with the ability to see details at distance while driving;
- Knowledge of the operation and minimum maintenance of light vehicles; and
- A clean driving record.
Notes
- Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
