LawiAir Limited, incorporated as an air charter company with its principle base of operations in Lilongwe, Malawi, Africa, has acquired an Air Service License (ASL) to engage in domestic and international non-scheduled commercial air transport and aerial work services.

LawiAir Limited is seeking the services of the following professionals to help run and manage its operations, and now invites applications and professional resume/ curriculum vitae (CVs) from suitably qualified persons for the following position:

Executive Director /Safety Manager (1 position)

Requirements:

Education:

Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Air Transportation/Aviation Management, Aeronautical Engineering, or graduation from an equivalent military educational establishment is required.

Professional qualifications:

  • Training and certification as a Pilot / Flight Navigator (fixed or rotary wing aircraft type ratings) or an equivalent military qualification is required;
  • Airline Transport Pilot / Flight Navigator License (ATPL) or Military equivalent special/appropriate permissions is required;
  • Training and certification as Helicopter Pilot / Flight navigator for MI-8 type rating is required;
  • Training and certification as Safety Manager, or at least, basics on safety Management through certified training/educational center (e.g. Approved Flight Training Program) is required.

Proven Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as PIC air transport operations (CPL) or flight navigator in commercial or military air transport operations involving large, fixed-wing aircraft and/or multi-engine helicopters is required;
  • 3 years flight operations experience on MI-8 helicopter type is required;
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible managerial experience in air transport operations or aviation safety, with at least five (5) years of experience on a senior managerial position directly related to the management, administration and coordination of complex air transport operations is required;
  • Experience in aviation safety and quality management is required.
