Job Description
To support the financial management and sustainability of the microfinance institution by ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, regulatory compliance, and prudent financial controls
1. Financial Reporting and Accounting
- Preparation and posting of journals.
- Preparation of General Ledger and Revenue reconciliations.
- The preparation of monthly Management Accounts and Line of Business reports.
- The preparation of annual financial statements in line with IFRSs and Old Mutual Group reporting policies.
- Preparation of quarterly regulatory returns.
- Managing internal and external audit processes.
- Improvement of internal control environment in the Finance department.
2. Treasury and Cash Flow Management
- Receipting and banking of collections.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly cash flows and forecasts of the Company.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting
- The preparation of business plans and forecasts that are aligned to the company’s strategic plans.
4. Loan Portfolio and Risk Management
- Processing loan disbursements.
- Assist in portfolio risk analysis and provisioning compliance.
- Provide financial input into loan product pricing and interest rate setting.
5. Asset and Tax Management
- Maintain the fixed asset register and coordinate annual asset verifications.
- Income tax computations and review of VAT returns.
6. Financial Systems Support and Collaboration
- Provide financial training to field officers and branch staff on financial policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial discipline across the institution.
