
Partners in Hope (PIH)
Partners in Hope (PIH) is a faith-based Malawian Non-Governmental organization that was established in 2004 to offer equitable health services and founded on robust commitment to support National HIV and AIDS response in Malawi. PIH has a medical center that operates a general outpatient clinic; inpatient wards; as well as a public HIV- focused Moyo Outpatient Centre of Excellence. PIH is incorporated under the provisions of Trustees Incorporation Act, 1962, in Malawi. With a Program Award under Cooperative Agreement No: 72061221CA00010 “Client-Oriented Response for HIV Epidemic Control (CORE -1) Activity Component One (1)” by the United States of America PEPFAR through USAID, PIH supports HIV Care and Treatment implementation in 123 Ministry of Health, CHAM and Private health facilities in 9 districts across Malawi (Mulanje, Chikwawa, Lilongwe Nsanje, Dowa, Kasungu, Nkhotakota, Karonga, and Chitipa. Under the CORE 1 Cooperative Agreement, PIH is seeking to recruit highly motivated individuals to be deployed in various districts across Malawi in the following positions:
DRIVERS (25)

Reports to: Transport Coordinator
Position Summary
The Driver is responsible for safe driving of vehicles in various locations where Partners in Hope is implementing HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment programs under the USAID Funded CORE Project.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive carefully at all times to ensure safety of passengers, other road users and the assigned vehicle.
- Keep accurate records of all trips in the vehicle logbooks and submitting a month end summary of vehicle usage to the supervisor.
- Develop and follow approved maintenance schedule for the assigned PIH vehicles
- Return vehicles to designated secured compound after completion of daily tasks and not later than 18 hrs. unless permitted by the supervisor.
- Ensure that seat belts are always used while driving by both you and passengers.
- Ensure that vehicles are clean and tidy at all times
- Follow all applicable Vehicle use and Traffic laws
- Report any accidents, faults, incidents or injuries involving the vehicle or its passengers to the supervisor immediately
- Ensure adequate and consistent fueling of vehicles and keeping of receipts and other records as required
- Ensure that vehicles are properly registered and have all the necessary equipment/tools
- Assist the Procurement, Stores and related personnel with the collection and delivery of supplies where necessary
- Avoid divulging confidential information discussed by staff members during the trip to other stakeholders without consent from the trip supervisor
- Performance of other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Required qualifications
- Minimum academic qualification of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
- Must have a defensive driving certificate
- Driving license class Cl, those with PC category will have an added advantage.
- Mechanical experience and training in first aid will be an added advantage.
- Experience of having worked with a reputable organization.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English is essential
- Ability to operate a 4×4 vehicle with good eyesight, having sober habits and good interpersonal skills
