Msilikali SACCO (MSACCO) an affiliate of Malawi Union of Savings & Credit Cooperatives Ltd (MUSCCO), is a member owned and democratically controlled financial cooperative society that aims at providing quality and affordable financial services to its members; drawn from the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) and other Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Therefore, Msilikali SACCO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position

Business Strategy Officer (Head Office)

Reporting to the SACCO General Manager shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the strategic plan of the SACCO. The Strategy Office shall play a pivotal role in ensuring the SACCO’s long-term sustainability and growth by aligning its operations with its strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Plan Development and Implementation: Ensuring the development and effective implementation of a robust strategic plan aligned with the SACCO’s vision.
  2. Market Analysis and Insight Generation: Provides accurate and timely market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making.
  3. Performance Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL): Develop and manage a comprehensive MEL system to track progress and measure impact.
  4. Risk Management and Mitigation: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating strategic risks inclusive supporting policy development and reviews
  5. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Effectively communicating strategic initiatives and engaging with key stakeholders.
  6. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Driving innovation and promoting a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.
  7. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with all departments to ensure alignment of operational plans with strategic goals.

Minimum qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Minimum of Bsc degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, and/or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in strategic planning, market research, or business analysis, preferably in the financial services industry or a SACCO environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools. Inclusive development of performance dash boards
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of cooperative principles and SACCO operation
