
Partners in Hope (PIH)
Partners in Hope (PIH) is a faith-based Malawian Non-Governmental organization that was established in 2004 to offer equitable health services and founded on robust commitment to support National HIV and AIDS response in Malawi. PIH has a medical center that operates a general outpatient clinic; inpatient wards; as well as a public HIV- focused Moyo Outpatient Centre of Excellence. PIH is incorporated under the provisions of Trustees Incorporation Act, 1962, in Malawi. With a Program Award under Cooperative Agreement No: 72061221CA00010 “Client-Oriented Response for HIV Epidemic Control (CORE -1) Activity Component One (1)” by the United States of America PEPFAR through USAID, PIH supports HIV Care and Treatment implementation in 123 Ministry of Health, CHAM and Private health facilities in 9 districts across Malawi (Mulanje, Chikwawa, Lilongwe Nsanje, Dowa, Kasungu, Nkhotakota, Karonga, and Chitipa. Under the CORE 1 Cooperative Agreement, PIH is seeking to recruit highly motivated individuals to be deployed in various districts across Malawi in the following positions:
IT Manager (1)
Location: Lilongwe Central Office
Reports to: Operations Director
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the IT Manager is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions at Partners In Hope. Oversee computer systems at all PIH sites and manage its overall operations, design, installation, modification and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in Software development and system programming
- Oversee all IT hardware, software and network installations and infrastructure and Lead maintenance and upgrading of the internet system.
- Analyze information systems needs of PIH and determine immediate and long-term resources requirements
- Develop IT requirement, Budgets and schedules for Information Technology projects
- Ensure all hardware and software integrity through development, identification and use of strict licensing compliance, security and systems architecture guidelines and documentation.
- Analyses hardware and software capabilities to meet PIH current and anticipated requirements and recommends configurations to meet operational demands.
- Maintains up-to-date inventories of all ICT equipment.
- Ensure safety and security of the IT systems and the overall performance of the IT department
- Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
- Oversee the development, content updates, and performance of the hospital’s website.
- Support digital solutions that enhance program efficiency and reporting.
Requirements
- BSc Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science with specialty in System Development, Networking and Programming. A Master’s Degree is an added advantage
- At least five years of progressive experience in IT management including website administration, preferably in Health, NGO or donor funded programs
- Proven expertise in software development, network systems and administration, website management and digital platforms, IT policy implementation and compliance.
- Demonstrate knowledge of IT cybersecurity, data protection, and software licensing compliance
- Hands-on experience with services such as VLAN, VPN, WLAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP, IPSEC.
- 5+ years in supporting large scale enterprise network infrastructures using multi-vendor environment i.e. (Cisco, Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, FortiGate, and Sophos solutions.
