Alliance One Tobacco (Malawi) is seeking applications for the position of

GREEN LEAF SERVICES SUPERINTENDENT

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the management of tobacco transportation, receiving, storage, and supply to our processing lines. This is a critical position within our factory, requiring someone with strong logistics expertise and an ability to manage a large workforce, among other attributes.

Key responsibilities will among other things include the following:

• Lead and manage the GLS department, which operates 24 hours a day
• Ensure efficient coordination of logistics for the seamless flow of tobacco
• Manage departmental budgets based on the Annual Operating Plan guidelines
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and the workforce
• Solve problems promptly and strategically plan for continuous improvement
• Ensuring that the operations are done in line with ISO standards and 5S Programme,
• Ensures that organizational safety standards are always maintained
• Ensure the security of stores green leaf tobacco.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes

• Relevant Degree in Transport and Logistics / Supply Chain Management or equivalent with at least Eight years post qualification experience
• Proven experience in logistics management in a busy environment
• Strong leadership and workforce management skills
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and planning abilities Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
