VACANCY
The Travel Centre a Tour Operator and Travel Agency is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the position of Tours Consultant based in Blantyre.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Customizing tourism itineraries to satisfy client’s preferences and budget.
- Generating itineraries on the booking management system
- Providing expert advice on destinations, accommodation, transportation and activities.
- Managing the entire cycle of booking arrangement
- Staying up-to-date on tourism trends and industry knowledge.
- Maintaining productive relationships with suppliers and service providers
- Promoting and selling tour packages
- Generating sales and meeting targets
- Other jobs that are assigned from time to time by the Directors.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualification
- Proven ability to identify and respond to customer needs
- Capacity to maintain customer service excellence
- Familiarity with various geographic areas popular in tourism
- Excellent knowledge of the latest tourism trends
- Critical thinker and problem solver
- Team player
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in travel reservation system(GDS)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of travel regulations, visa requirements and health advisories.
- A Degree or Diploma in Tourism, hospitality or related field.
- Relevant certification in travel consultancy will be an added advantage.
- Prior experience in travel agency / tour operator is highly valued.
