Naturenv Consult is a project management and sustainability consultancy firm established in Malawi in 2015. We are passionate about providing professional services to enable our clients to plan, deliver, monitor and manage projects in a way that environmental, social, governance, and economic aspects are adequately integrated in the entire project life cycle. Assignments vary FROM, proposal development, feasibility studies, environmental and social impact assessments, supervision, baseline surveys, TO monitoring and evaluations. Our mission is to accelerate Malawi’s transition to a middle-income country by integrating sustainability into projects.

As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for the services of a Trainee Consultant – Engineer and Business Development Associate as detailed below:

  1. Trainee Consultant – Engineer

Location: Blantyre

The role will require primarily working at our office in Blantyre, with some travelling to collect data, conduct meetings and make presentations depending on assignments. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights and hands-on experience in the world of consultancy. Importantly, you will have the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects, assisting our clients in solving complex challenges and making a meaningful impact.

The Trainee Consultant will perform the following duties:

  • Assist in conducting technical assessments, data collection, and analysis.
  • Support the development of feasibility studies, detailed engineering designs, and project proposals.
  • Participate in site visits, field surveys, and stakeholder consultations.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions for clients.
  • Support project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and monitoring progress.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to our projects.

Requirements:

  • Recently graduated or less than 2 years experience.
  • A degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar) is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work in diverse environments.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
  1. Business Development Associate

 Location: Blantyre

We are looking for the services of a Business Development Associate to support the development and implementation of strategies to expand our client base, enhance our market presence and identify new business opportunities. The role requires an energetic, creative, proactive, and results-driven individual.

The Business Development Associate will perform the following duties:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, partners, and business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the company’s services.
  • Create business proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Generate leads through research, outreach, and networking.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Track expenses, assist in bookkeeping, and support financial reporting.
  • Prepare invoices, monitor payments, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Analyse competitors and market trends to inform business strategies.
  • Maintain and update client and financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and business reporting standards.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Interest in business development, sales, and market analysis.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to learn.
